ORANGE — Pre-Mardi Gras Dance

St. John Knights of Peter Claver Council and Court No. 164 present a pre-Mardi Gras dance starting at 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Parish Hall, 620 53rd St. in Port Arthur. Admission is $7 per person at the door and entertainment is provided by DJ Mike. BYOB and ice chest welcome. Call 409-543-1152 for info.

Vidor Rotary

The Vidor Rotary Club meets at noon, every Monday, upstairs in the Capital One building on North Main Street.

Vidor Historical Society

The Vidor Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, at in the Fellowship Hall of First Pentecostal Church at Camp and Wilson Streets.

City Council

Pine Forest City Council will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, at City Hall, 305 Nagel St. in Pine Forest. The public is welcome to attend.

Mardi Gras Parade

The Krewe of Krewe’s Mardi Gras Parade will be held in downtown Orange on Saturday, Feb. 2. If you would like to participate and have a float in the parade, please call the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce at 409-883-3536. Entry fee is $100. Application deadline is Jan. 23. Mandatory drivers meeting at 5:30 p.m., Jan. 29.

Chevron, Texaco and Unocal retirees to meet

The Chevron, Texaco and Unocal Retirees Association will meet Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at Robert's Steak House, 3720 W. Park Ave. in Orange. All Chevron, Texaco and Unocal retirees, spouses and guests are invited to attend for a good “Dutch treat” meal, fellowship and a presentation by Paula Tacker, Orange County Extension Agent, on “Diabetes.” Information presented will be useful for those who have diabetes and those who have family members who have diabetes.

Mighty Pirates 4-H

The Mighty Pirates 4-H Club will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Raymond Gould Community, corner of Claiborne Street and I-10 East feeder road in Vidor. Call Cathy at 409-769-4346 for info.
