VIDOR — A student in the Vidor Independent School District was struck by a truck after exiting the bus late Tuesday afternoon.
A 12-year-old boy was hit by a truck in the 1100 block of Orange Street at approximately 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, after the student exited the bus. The vehicle was reportedly driving by when it hit the child.
The bus was transporting elementary, middle school and junior high students home who had been participating in the Vidor ISD's ACE after school program.
The unidentified driver was not arrested but a "blood draw" was made since an injury to a pedestrian was involved. The driver was no arrested and no other information was available.
The child reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Calls to Vidor ISD officials were not immediately returned.
