JASPER, Texas —
A 23-year-old Jasper woman has died following a single vehicle wreck early Friday morning.
Kimberly Dinsdale of Jasper died from her injuries she sustained after being ejected from her vehicle following a wreck at approximately 3:30 a.m., Friday, on Fm 1747 west of Jasper in Jasper County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety stated in a press release that Dinsdale was reported to be traveling at “an unsafe speed into a curve” when she lost control of her 2009 Pontiac passenger vehicle. She left the roadway to the left and struck an embankment, which sent the car airborne.
Officials stated Dinsdale was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene.
Ronny Billingsly, Jasper County Justice of the Peace - Precinct 1, ordered an inquest following Dinsdale’s death. Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety collected a blood sample, which is part of the investigation into the crash, and will submit the sample to a DPS lab for analysis. Results are expected to be returned within four-to-six months.
DPS officials said more information will be released as it becomes available.
