Authorities are seeking assistance from the public on the death of Richard B. Sanford.
The Vidor Police Department is seeking information on how the body of Richard B. Sanford, 48, was found in the eastbound lane of the service road along Interstate 10 near Cow Bayou in Vidor this past week.
Sanford’s body was discovered by another motorist who called the Vidor Police Department at approximately 11 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3. The unidentified driver informed police he had struck “an object” in the road and initially believed it to be an animal. Upon returning to the scene, the driver found Sanford’s body in the roadway and immediately notified authorities.
According to Chief Dave Shows of the Vidor Police Department, there is no reason to believe the caller was the person who “initially struck” Sanford. Shows also stated the vehicle which did strike Sanford “will have front end damage that will be obvious and the driver should be aware of having struck” Sanford.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Vidor Police Department at 409-769-4561.
