Edgerly seeking re-election for OC District Clerk

ORANGE — Orange County District Clerk Vickie Edgerly, a veteran of nearly 26 years in the clerk’s office, announced she will be seeking re-election as a candidate in the March 2014 Republican primary.

“Serving the people of Orange County has been a tremendous honor,” Edgerly said. “I ask for your support so we can continue with the vision and efficiency that has enabled us to roll out and execute fresh ideas keeping us among the top in the state.”

Working her way up through the ranks under two district clerks, Edgerly, 52, was first elected in 1998; she has worked continually to uphold the oath of office to the highest of standards.

“Work ethics have always been very important to me,” Edgerly said. “I will continue to retain the efficient, courteous and helpful attitude that has been a hallmark of the district clerk’s office and at the same time constantly look for ways to improve. I have 11 outstanding, efficient, responsible employees who work for me and are more than willing to do the best job possible.”

A lifelong resident of Orange County, Mrs. Edgerly is a 1979 graduate of West Orange Stark and attended Lamar, Orange. She is the daughter of Hazen and Connie Kenney and is married to Alvin Edgerly. She and her husband have two children and two grandchildren. Vickie and Alvin are active members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange.

Her professional affiliations include the Texas County and District Clerk’s Association where she has served on the Legislative committee for 15 years, The Texas District Court Alliance and service on the Mid-management Advisory board for Lamar State College-Orange.

“My priorities are those of the citizens I serve and the awesome responsibilities they have entrusted me with,” she said. “I have worked hard to serve the county and I believe my record as well as my qualifications and experience speak to my strong values for the people I represent. It’s my privilege once again to ask for your vote.”
