BEAUMONT — The Texas Medical Board found Dr. Ravikumar Kanneganti failed to meet the standard of care, non-therapeutically prescribed and violated Board Rules regarding treatment of chronic pain and maintenance of adequate medical records.
Kanneganti and the board entered into an agreed order on Feb. 8 according to the Texas medical Board newsletter released on Friday.
The order requires Kanneganti to have his practice monitored by another physician for 12 monitoring cycles, complete 38 hours of Continuing Medical Education including 30 hours in psychopharmacology and 8 hours in treating chronic pain.
Kanneganti must also pay an administrative penalty of $6,000 within 60 days.
