2 women injured in car wreck

VIDOR — Two women were transported to an area hospital following a single vehicle wreck Monday.

Vidor residents Rosemary Andrews, 24, and her sister, Tiffany Ann Andrews, 21, were both injured when Rosemary apparently lost control of her vehicle, according to Sgt. Mike Sanchez of the Vidor Police Department.

Sanchez said Rosemary Andrews was driving her 2003 Dodge Neon east on South Street, the feeder road adjacent to Interstate 10 East, when she left the roadway to the right and struck gravel.

“Once the car  made contact with the road again it shot up the embankment and crashed into the guardrail at the edge of the Interstate,” Sanchez said. “That’s where the car came to rest.”

Sanchez said Rosemary suffered an injury to her neck as a result of the crash and was being helped at the scene by a retired emergency service person. Her sister, Tiffany Ann, suffered a moderate cut to her foot. Both women were reportedly wearing seat belts.

Rosemary Andrews was cited traveling at an unsafe speed, no drivers license and no insurance.
