OC Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying body found

ORANGE — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a human body found in the Neches River near the Purple Heart Bridge at approximately 6 p.m., Sunday.

The Neches River separates Jefferson County and Orange County. The body was found on the Orange County side of the river.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.

Orange County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Judge Dunn is conducting the death inquiry and ordered an autopsy. The body was transferred to the Jefferson County Forensic Medical Facility where an autopsy was performed.

According to Dr. Wayne, Forensic Pathologist the cause and manner of death was not able to be determined at the time of the autopsy due to the decomposed condition of the victim.  

Wayne advised that toxicology and other further testing is going to be done to try to determine cause and manner and also to try and determine the identity of the deceased.  

Wayne advised that the victim is a white male but has not been able to determine possible age.

The victim was possibly wearing a white rubber bracelet with the following writing on the bracelet “I’m sexy and I know it! LMFAO” The victim was also wearing a pair of white Adidas tennis shoes size 12.
