ORANGE — Pinehurst Council

The City of Pinehurst will hold its next regularly scheduled council meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Faith Kidz

Faith Kidz group of Faith United Methodist Church, 8608 MLK Jr. Drive in Orange, will visit the residents of Sabine House on a field trip on Oct. 24. Kidz members are encouraged to wear their costumes.

Ladies Game Night

Ladies Game Night at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, at St. Mary’s Church Hall, 909 Cherry St. in Orange. Snacks and prizes will be provided by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Bunco veterans are more than willing to share the fun with newcomers to the game, so this is an excellent opportunity to see what the hype is all about. No reservation is required, only a $5 donation.

Pool tournament

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will host a pool tournament beginning at 8 p.m., every Friday. Prize money will given to first and second place winners. Food will be available. Call Sharon Bodin at 409-735-8662 or 409-719-7793 for info.

Fish Dinners

The Heroines of Jericho will hold its annual Fish Fry from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at the Masonic Hall, 1017 Mill St. in Orange. Cost is $7 per plate and meal consists of fish, potato salad, green beans, cake, bread and water. Walk-in’s welcome, delivery available with purchase of 4 or more. Fall Festival

Little Cypress Baptist Church, 3274 Little Cypress Drive, will hold its annual Fall Festival at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, with a hot dog snack for the family. At 6:30 p.m., a Trunk or Treat will be held for children, and, at 7 p.m., children can enjoy a carnival atmosphere in the family center. Children are encouraged to dress up, but no scary costumes please.

Operation Kid Safe

Mike Bott’s safety team will be at Cecil Toyota, 2500 I-10 West in Orange, on Friday, Oct. 26, and Saturday, Oct. 27, to fingerprint and photo all of the children. We will have the fire department with a truck, police department and the sheriff’s department with cars, safety tips and even some gun-handling safety tips. The mechanical robot (SPARKY) will make a guest appearance.
