ORANGE — Pre-K Round-up

Deweyville Elementary will hold its Pre-K and Kindergarten roundup for the 2013-2014 school year from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 2. Bring the child’s birth certificate, social security card, shot record, proof of residency (electric or water bill) and enrolling person my have Texas driver’s license and social security card.

Parkinson Awareness

Orange County Parkinson Awareness Support Group will meet at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, at St. Francis Cathloic Church Hall, 4300 Meeks Drive in Orange. Contact Wanda Simar at 409-883-4912 or Ella Guillory 409-886-4877 for more information.

Plate lunch fundraiser

American Legion Post 49, 108 Green Ave. in Orange, will hold a plate lunch fundraiser from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, May 2. Cost is $8 and meal consists of brisket, link, beans, potato salad, bread and dessert. Walk-in’s welcome and delivery available. For orders or delivery call 409-886-1241 after noon, May 1 and before 9 a.m., May 2.

National Day of Prayer

Orange County will hold its National Day of Prayer at noon Thursday, May 2 in front of the Orange County Courthouse, 801 W. Division in Orange.

Fish Dinners

Gate City Masonic Lodge No. 31, 1017 Mill at John St. in Orange, will be selling fish dinners on Friday, May 3 to support the Norris Wright Cuney Grand Chapter Scholarship Queen Contest Contestant. Meal is $8 and includes catfish or Tilapia, green beans, potato salad, bread, dessert and soda. Call 409-736-1411 for orders.

Senior Citizens Rally Day

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Committee on Aging will like to invite all Senior Citizens to join us for a free day from 9 a.m. -  1 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at the VFW Hall, 5303 N. 16th St. in Orange. There will be over 40 vendors with health information, screenings and important information for all seniors, along with bingo, entertainment, door prizes all day and a free lunch. This year’s rally day theme will be ‘Mardi Gras’ and everyone is encouraged to dress according to the theme. Lions Eye Bank of Texas will be accepting used eye glasses.
