Air Force Airman Annastasha F. Gingery
Air Force Airman Annastasha F. Gingery graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Gingery is the daughter of Chris and David Gingery of Buna.
She is a 2012 graduate of Tall Pines Christian Academy, Buna.
Navy Seaman Ryan Johnson
Navy Seaman Ryan Johnson, son of Kimberly Morgeson, of Beaumont, Texas, recently deployed to the U.S. Navy’s 5th and 6th Fleet Area of Operations, while assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77).
George H.W. Bush, flagship for the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group (GHWB CSG), is scheduled to conduct operations in the U.S. Navy’s 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operations, including the Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean.
The deployment is a part of an ongoing rotation of U.S. forces supporting maritime security operations in international waters around the globe.
Working with allied and partner maritime forces, GHWB CSG units will focus heavily on maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts which helps establish conditions for regional stability.
Johnson, along with approximately 6,000 other Sailors have spent the last year conducting numerous training and certification exercises to establish a safe, cohesive organization capable of performing a wide variety of missions across the globe, ranging from counter-piracy and ground support operations to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
Johnson is a 2011 graduate of Vidor Independent High School.
