Hollywood’s Golden Age returns for one night

ORANGE — It’s time to dust off those dancing shoes.

Orange Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation, 510 3rd Street in Orange, is hosting the 2nd Annual Semiformal Senior Citizens Ball 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at The Brown Center located at 4205 West Park Ave. in Orange.

Dawn Huckins, administer at Orange Villa, said the event is open to all seniors 55 years and older.

The theme for this years event is the Golden Age of Hollywood.

The Golden Age of Hollywood is the period between 1930-1940 when the cinema was at the height of popularity with more than 7,500 features released by the studios between 1930 and 1945.

“This is our second year for the event,” Huckins said. “It was very well received last year.”

The event is free. Reservations are needed and must be made prior to the date of the event as space is limited.

“At least 40 have reserved already,” Huckins said. “We have room for up to 100.”
