A local business raised a little money, and had a little fun in the process, for a worthy cause.
Granger Chevrolet, located on MacArthur Drive in Orange, was the place to be on Friday afternoon for a special “fashion” show fundraiser in support of Breast Cancer Awareness as several male employees strutted their stuff down the runway while wearing bras and various accessories.
“This is just one of three events we decided to have, along with other Chevy dealers across the area, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness,” said Dean Granger. “We had a link sale earlier (Friday) and then we had our show in the afternoon. It’s a great cause and a great way to raise some money.”
On Sept. 28, 2012, Granger Chevrolet held an “old-fashioned” cake walk and raised $350 for Breast Cancer Awareness. On Friday, the link sale and “fashion” show was the second event. A third event will be held on Friday, Oct. 12.
Granger said these events are all part of the dealership’s support of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, a fundraiser walk which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Lamar University in Beaumont.
