OJHS student honored for doing the 'write thing'

BEAUMONT — Madison Taylor, a seventh grade student at Orangefield Junior High, was named a State Finalist and Ambassador in The “Do the Write Thing” essay contest, at the program’s awards banquet on April 21. Taylor was previously selected as a “Do the Write Thing” Ambassador for the Orangefield Junior High campus in March. Madison will have opportunities to meet with various political advocates to share her ideas and insight on stopping youth violence. She will also accompany Judge Randy Shelton at speaking events where they can address the subject of youth violence and share methods to prevent violence, as well as, coping with the aftermath of violent events.
