Police search for Capital One Bank robber

ORANGE — An older man wearing what appears to be a blonde wig was seen just moments prior to entering Capital One Bank, 3738 16th Street in Orange on Tuesday.

A white man entered Capital One Bank at approximately 3:20 p.m. Tuesday. The man presented a note to the teller demanding money. He did not display a weapon.

Kristen McCurry, a nurse at Permian Premier Health Services, 3730 North 16th Street, said she saw the man walk pass the window of the medical center approximately 30 minutes prior the robbery.

“I saw him 30-40 minutes later running by,” McCurry said. “I thought he broke into one of the cars.”

The man left on foot after the teller gave him the money.

The man was seen behind Texas State Optical Building, located next to the bank, entering a teal colored, 2-door Saturn. The vehicle had a paper license tag on the back.

“It took him 3-4 tries to get his car started,” McCurry said.

The man is described as a white male, over 6 feet tall, wearing a black button up shirt, khaki pants, black shoes, “Castrol” baseball cap, and a knee brace on his right knee.

He had long blonde hair, which most likely is a wig and glasses.

The vehicle was last seen southbound on 16th Street.
