Sweet Retreats Salon and Spa

ORANGE — With summer ending and the beginning of school fast approaching, it can almost feel like one needs a vacation.

Sweet Retreats Salon and Spa, 802 West Park Ave. in Orange, started as dream of a salon that would feel like a retreat from the pressures of the day to day life.

“Women wear so many hats,” Wendy Solomon, owner, said. “There is so much going on. Life is busy!”

Solomon said she designed the salon in such a way as to offer tranquility and serenity to clients.

“I fell in love with the spa when I was married and when he would ask what I wanted, all I would say is I wanted a day at a spa,” Solomon said. “We all need a place where we can go to renew and regroup.”

Solomon said that the atmosphere is such that sometimes even she forgets she is at work.

“Everyday is like Christmas,” Solomon said. “My dream is coming to life and it’s amazing.”

Sweet Retreats offers private rooms for hair styling.

“Each Sweet Suite has it’s own shampoo station and chair so once one arrives, they do not have to move from one room to another,” Solomon said. “It is all about you while you are here.”

Sweet Retreats offers manicures, pedicures, facials, relaxing in the meditation room and massages in spa packages with names such as ‘Ah, sweet relief’ to the top of the line - ‘A Beautiful Experience.”

The salon caters to both men and women.

The spa officially opened May 1, 2013 and a grand opening celebration is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2013.

“If you are looking for a place to renew, this is the place,” Solomon said. “You leave all your troubles at the door.”

Solomon is hoping to expand her business with a full time barber and nail technicians.

“I am hoping to open a beauty school one day,” Solomon said. “So many are unable to travel for school and offering a school locally would help so many.”

Sweet Retreats is open 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Mon. - Sat.
