Health violations found at IB Cheapers

ORANGE — Hair found inside the ice machine is just one violation discovered during a recent health inspection at IB Cheapers, 11365 Hwy. 12 in Mauriceville. The store received an 81 out of a possible 100. Other violations found included chicken strips and boudan balls at unsafe temperatures, several expired food items and mold found on the slushi-machine.

The report notes the store immediately cleaned the ice machine.

Several gnats and a roach found at Sonic Drive-in, 2805 MacArthur Drive in Orange, lead to demerits during a health code inspection. The restaurant received an 85 out of a possible 100. Other violations included repairs needed in the cooler and at the three-compartment sink as well as a vegetable cutter found with old foods on it.

Ming’s Buffet, 840 North Main Street in Vidor, was inspected for compliance after recently closing twice in one month for violations. The restaurant received an 85 out of a possible 100. Violations during the inspections were noted as several moldy vegetables in the walk-in cooler, vegetables being stored above raw meats and the need to date all foods inside the coolers and freezers.

Lilliano’s Italian Restaurant, 947 North Main Street in Vidor, had two violations giving the establishment a 93 out of a possible 100. The violations were the need to date all foods inside the coolers and freezers and defrosting chicken at room temperature.
