Sponsors sought for annual festival

VIDOR — The Vidor Chamber of Commerce is seeking sponsors to help make the Texas Bar-B-Q Festival bigger and better than ever.

The Vidor Chamber of Commerce is looking for help from areas businesses to help sponsor its annual Texas Bar-B-Q Festival, which is returning to its traditional time of year on the last weekend of April. The event will be held April 25 through April 28.

Big changes have been made for the 2013 festival, including a new location. The festival, which was held for many years inside Claiborne West Park in Vidor, is moving to its new location at Conn Park, which is located off South Street adjacent to Interstate 10 East near Old Highway 90 in Vidor.

Dicky Woodard, president of the Vidor Chamber of Commerce, and the chamber’s Board of Directors, are bringing in one of the largest carnivals ever to be included at the festival in hopes of redeeming the festival after a less than exciting 2012 event which was moved to September and did not include a carnival.

Several sponsorship packages are available and each includes a variety of extra benefits and perks for the company involved. Packages available include four Carnival Sponsorships at 2,000 each; eight Gold Sponsorships at $1,000 each; six Silver Sponsorships at $500 each; and four Bronze Sponsorship packages at $250 each.

Other packages available include six Cook-Off Sponsorships at $1,000 each; two Talent Show packages at $1,000; and four Activities Sponsorships at $500 each.

Contact the Vidor Chamber of Commerce at 409-769-6339 or for more information on these opportunities.
