Vidor man receives life sentence for role in 2011 shooting

BEAUMONT — A Vidor resident was sentenced to life in federal prison for his role in a 2011 shooting in Liberty County.

Kenny Don Stanley was sentenced to life in prison on Monday by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone for his role in the murder of James Lee Sedtal on March 14, 2011 in Liberty County. Stanley pleaded guilty to murder in the aid of racketeering on June 25.

According to information presented in the Easter District of Texas court, Stanley, 32, aka “Lil Bit,” along with Tanner Lynn Bourque, aka “Hitman,” Kristopher Leigh Guidry, aka “Hollywood,” and Vicki Stark-Fitts are members of SWS which is a reported to be a race-based organization that operates inside and outside of prisons and jails across Texas and other areas of the United States.

Sedtal was shot and killed by the members of SWS in retaliation for an earlier assault by Sedtal on an “associate” of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas. Stanley, along with Bourque, Guidry and Stark-Fitts wanted to increase their positions within SWS and in connection with a methamphetamine conspiracy by murdering Sedtal, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Beaumont.

Guidry pleaded guilty earlier this summer and was sentenced to life in prison. Bourque also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison, while Stark-Fitts pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 360 months to life in prison.

The case was investigated by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, ATF, FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Secret Service, Texas Rangers, Texas Department of Public Safety and multiple other agencies across the region.
