A student has been arrested after administrators found what they believe to be a “hit list” on Monday.
A principal at a campus in the Deweyville Independent School District reported the finding of a “hit list” iinside a classroom on Monday to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. According to one report, the list included the names of several children at the school campus.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office have charged a 12-year-old students with making terroristic threats and transported the child to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Justice Center in Beaumont.
School administrators said the student has been suspended from Deweyville ISD.
This is the third such 'list' found at an area school district in a week. Orangefield ISD reported the finding of a 'hit list' on Jan. 28, and LC-M CISD reported the discovery of a 'hit list' on Jan. 30.
