Why do we tell men that they are prideful?

I do believe that we really don’t know why.

If we did, we would address the real problem with being prideful.

All of us have pride especially men. All men have egos or pride. Pride is that which compels men to operate in excellence. We try to teach and instill pride, a sense of one’s own proper value or dignity in the lives of our sons.

The problem is that if we only teach pride and don’t teach purpose our sons grow up to be pride “full.”

To have pride with no purpose is pseudo.

What good is it to have pride when there is no purpose to support it? This type of counterfeit pride is what the bible warns against, one of the seven cardinal sins.

Purpose, the object toward which one strives or for which something exists is a key principle that we need to instill into our sons. Not to say that our daughters don’t need it as well, but this principle is severely missing in the young adult males today.

We are raising young males to have pride with no purpose.

It is purpose that helps to develop males to men, cubs into lions, and a prince into a king.

It’s “purpose” that fuels the commitment and determination to not only have vision but to achieve vision.

If a male has no clue as to why or what his life is worth or about he will never truly know his true value.

When a man takes pride in his purpose his value will be confirmed by others and there will be no doubt about his status in the community, city or the country. This is not to say that there will not be those who will not agree or even agree with the level of his value. But because of his accomplishment in his purpose they can’t help but respect the pride that he has in himself.

The bible speaks of a man not thinking “more” highly of himself than he should.

When a man takes pride in his purpose, it’s his purpose that speaks for him, clear, loud and strong. Leaving no doubt, he is truly a man.

Without purpose your pride is pseudo.

Man, or male, reality or fantasy, my brothers it’s your call. Is your pride purposeful or is your purpose prideful?
