BEAUMONT — Angel San Juan has joined 12News.

San Juan will join Mary Sturgell in co-anchoring 12News at 6:30 p.m. on KJAC and will be reporting on KBMT ABC at night.

San Juan is a Houston native and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He started his career in Lufkin.

“I am beyond excited to be back doing what’s been my passion for 22 years and that is TV news,” San Juan said. “I am honored that my new home is 12News. There I will be working with a team of longtime friends and true professionals who genuinely care about the Southeasat Texas community.”

12News Vice President Bruce Cummings said his staff is thrilled to have San Juan join his team.

“We are not only adding to the most experienced and connected news staff in the market, but with Angel we’re also benefitting from his rock solid citizenship and his love of Southeast Texas. Those qualifications will serve our viewers well, which is our responsibility and duty each and every day.”
