VIDOR — James McDowell, principal of Oak Forest Elementary School in Vidor, was the guest speaker at the July 29 meeting of the Vidor Rotary Club. McDowell talked about the Aug. 3 “Fill the Bus” event, to be held from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Vidor WalMart. The school district is collecting items from the school supply list to aid children and youth who might need help purchasing school supplies this year. The event began two years ago and has been highly successful. The Vidor Rotary Club’s green bus will also be on hand, collecting new or gently used jeans and jackets in all sizes for Vidor students for back to school.

OCSO to purchase new computer software
