Housing Authority Orange announces contest winners

ORANGE — The Housing Authority Orange meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening was canceled due to the lack of a quorum as two Commissioners were present, Patricia Coppage and Michael Combs. That did not stop the staff from presenting the What Christmas Means to Me essay contest winners for those present.

Four winners were announced during the event.

Marlaychia Hines won a bike for a picture she colored for the 4-6 age group contest.

Diana Martinez, Wyndie Williams and Gregory Thompson each read their winning essays for the commissioners.

“I thought the contest was pretty good,” Thompson said after winning a tablet. “I was writing from the heart.”

All the prizes were purchased through donations from the employees of the Housing Authority.
