ORANGE — Red Hot Flashers

The Red Hot Flashers of the Red Hat Society will meet at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Brown Center for its annual Christmas party. Each member is to bring an ornament to exchange. Birthday lady is Lady Shiann (Shirley Wolfford). Call Southern Belle, Mary Mazoch for tickets.

Public Education Forum

The Orange County school superindents will conduct an open meeting from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13 in the Orange Public Library meeting room. They will present possible upcoming changes in Texas public education, mainly pertaining to testing and school finance. This is an important meeting to inform the public regarding possible changes to how public schools in Texas will conduct business for years to come. The council room is located at 220 N. 5th Street in Orange.

Class of 1969

The Class of 1969 will hold a meeting at 6 p.m., every Thursday, at DJ’s on Simmons Drive in Orange. All classmates are asked to attend if possible for planning of important business for holidays. Call Susie Murry at 409-988-5741 for info.

Pool tournament

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will host a pool tournament beginning at 8 p.m., every Friday. Prize money will given to first and second place winners. Food will be available. Call Sharon Bodin at 409-735-8662 or 409-719-7793 for info.

Heroines of Jericho

The Heroines of Jericho will hold its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at Gate City Masonic Lodge No. 31, 1017 Mill at John Street in Orange. All Heroines and Knights are asked to be present. Initiation of two prospective daughters in waiting. Regalia is required.
