Beat the Lunch Box Blues
The Vidor Public Library will host “Beating the Lunch Box Blues” with Dietetic Intern Amber Isaacs and Natalie Long MS, RD, LD at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11. Tips, ideas and recipes for teachers and students.

The Mighty Pirates 4-H Club is selling the famous Durham-Ellis pecans from Comanche, Texas, and is accepting orders till Oct. 12. Pecans will be available for pickup before Thanksgiving. Items availabe are raw pecans, flavor pecans, specialty nuts and mixes at various prices. Raw pecans are $9 for a 1 lb bag, $28 for a 3 lb box and $43 for a 5 lb box.
