Summer concerts bring varied sounds to region

KINDER, La. — The summer and fall concert season looks to be red hot with several big events being announced this week.

Southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd have announced a new date for its previously canceled concert at Coushatta Casino and Resort in Kinder, La. The band will perform on Saturday, June 8, inside The Pavilion at Coushatta. Tickets are on sale now for $48.50 - $78.50 at all Ticketmaster outlets, including www.ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.

Ford Park is continuing to offer area music fans a great variety of entertainment thus far in 2013, and this week’s announcement is further proof.

Multiple Grammy Award winning act the Gaither Vocal Band will perform on Friday, July 29 at Ford Pavilion in Beaumont as part of the Bill Gaither and Gaither Homecoming Tour. The Gaither Vocal Band, which features the all-star lineup of Mark Lowry, Michael English, David Phelps, Wes Hampton and Bill Gaither, will perform gospel classics and inspiring new favorites.

Tickets are $24.50 - $32.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m., Monday, May 6, at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Ford Park Box Office. Group discounts available for orders of 15 tickets or more and every order of 15 or more receives two free tickets. Call Linda at 409-951-5413 for group sales orders.

Nutty Jerry’s Entertainment Complex in Winnie, Texas, has plenty of great music on tap this spring and summer, and the venue has more on the way.

Concerts just announced include country music star Don McLean and The Doobie Brothers in a special showcase this fall.

Don McLean will perform on Friday, Sept. 6. Tickets are $30 - $55 and go on sale Monday, July 15.

The Doobie Brothers are headed back to Southeast Texas for a concert on Thursday, Nov. 7. Tickets are $60-$100 and go on sale Thursday, Aug. 1. Visit www.nuttyjerrys.com or call 877-643-7508 for information.
