ORANGE — Book signing

Local author Arlon Davis will hold a book signing for his second book, “The Legend of One-Eyed-Jack,” from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, at Reader’s Choice, 2407 Martin Luther King Drive in Orange.

Catholic Schools Week

St. Mary Catholic School, 2600 Bob Hall Road in Orange, invites the public to celebrate Catholic Schools Week with an Open House event from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26. Students in attendance will be entered into drawing for an iPad. Knights of Columbus will serve hot dogs, chips and drinks with “Sun”daes for dessert. Lunch will be served starting at 1 p.m.; tour classrooms from 1:45 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.; activities in gym and iPad winner announced.

VFW Recognition program

Orange Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2775 invite the public to attend a slide show presentation in recognition of the Vietnam Peace Accord at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27 at the VFW Hall, 5303 N. 16th St. in Orange.

Relay for Life

Orange County Relay for Life Team Captain meeting is set for 5:45 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27 at Lamar State College Orange Wilson Building in Room 101. If you are interested in signing up a team for this years relay please visit our website at www.relayforlife.com/orangecotx. This years Relay for Life is set for Friday, May 2, from 6 p.m. - midnight at Bridge City High School and the theme is Planting the Seed for the Cure. AAUW Book drive

The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.
