George P. Bush, Texas Land Commissioner hopeful visits Orange

PINEHURST — George P. Bush, Republican running for Texas Land Commissioner, wants to see new leadership in Texas.

“We have an opportunity for Texas to lead the country and the world,” Bush said during a stop on a statewide bus tour Thursday at Robert’s Meat Market in Pinehurst. “We can’t afford to not. This is about my son, his future. The future of our grandchildren.”

Bush said he wants to protect the 2nd Amendment, create more jobs, protect the unborn and reduce the bureaucrats for creating new jobs.

“Early voting will begin and voters need to evaluate in the primary,” Bush said. “Every vote counts.”

Bush is a business leader, former public school teacher and a Navy Reserve officer. He served as a combat veteran in Afghanistan. He lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Amanda, and their son, Prescott.

Bush is currently the Tarrant County chairman for Uplift Education-a Dallas-based public charter network focused on closing the achievement gap in inner-city public schools. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin.
