Closings ahead of Independence Day

ORANGE — The Independence Day holiday falls on Friday this year and that means an extended weekend, along with numerous business and government office closures.

All city offices in Orange, West Orange, Pinehurst, Bridge City, Vidor, Rose City and Pine Forest will be closed for business Friday, July 4, and will reopen for normal business hours on Monday, July 7.

Despite being a holiday, garbage collection services for most communities of Orange County will run as scheduled.

All non-essential Orange County government offices will be closed on Friday as well, including the Orange County Courthouse.

The United States Postal Service will observe the Fourth of July holiday on Friday, but it will resume normal mail delivery on Saturday, July 5. Most federal offices will be closed on Friday as well.

Sabine Federal Credit Union and MCT Credit Union will be closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday, as will most other credit unions and banks such as First Financial, Community Bank and BBVA Compass.

The Orange Leader office on Dal Sasso Drive will also be closed Friday in observance of the Fourth of July holiday and will reopen at 8 a.m., Monday.
