Disagreement leaves one man dead

VIDOR — The Orange County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a shooting at a residence at approximately 10:15 a.m., Saturday, at the 400 block of Florence Street near the Vidor area of Orange County, Texas.

When Deputies arrived, they found a 60 year old male inside the residence that was deceased according to a press release.

The male appeared to have sustained several injuries consistent with that of gunshot wounds.

There was also a 47 year old white male in the residence at the time who was the actual homeowner.

He was also the person who called 9-1-1.  The initial investigation revealed that the two men were at the residence when they got into a disagreement that escalated to both men producing a firearm.

The 47 year old man shot the 60 year old man and then called 9-1-1.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.

The homeowner was uninjuried in the incident.

The identity of those involved is not being released at this time while notifications are being made to family members of the deceased.
