SFCU announces scholarship winners

ORANGE — Sabine Federal Credit Union is proud to give back to the communities it serves.

Each year it awards $8,000 in scholarships. It awards a $1,000 scholarship to a graduate from each of the six high schools in Orange County. It also awards a $1,000 scholarship to a Lamar State College–Orange student, and two $500 scholarships to Credit Union Teen $avers (CUT$) club graduating seniors.

Our Bridge City High School winner is Phuong Tran. She will be attending Lamar University majoring in General Business and Accounting. Our Community Christian School High School winner is Lauren Leger. She will be attending Lamar University majoring in Business Management.

Our Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School winner is Tyler Sears. He will be attending LeTourneau University majoring in Aeronautical Science. Our Orangefield High School winner is Alex Kolar. He will be attending Lamar State College-Orange majoring in Nursing.

Our Vidor High School winner is Tonie Miller. She will be attending Lamar State College-Orange majoring in Education. Our West Orange Stark High School winner is Georwanna Tolliver. She will be attending Texas Woman’s University majoring in Occupational Therapy.

Our first CUT$ club winner is Reagan Ficken from Orangefield High School. He will be attending Lamar University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Our second CUT$ club winner is Johnny Raney III from Vinton High School. He will be attending Louisiana Tech University majoring in Agricultural Sciences/Pre-Veterinary.
