I-10 road at Louisiana border could cause delays

ORANGE — Motorists traveling from Texas to Louisiana along Interstate 10 could encounter traffic delays today and Thursday.

Crews with the Louisiana Department of Transportation will be working on an emergency roadway patch on eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near the Sabine River Bridge beginning at 6:30 a.m., today, and continuing through the afternoon on Thursday.

According to a press release, two lanes of traffic will remain open for motorists at all times, but a lane shift and speed reduction in the work zone could lead to minor delays.

The Sabine River turnaround, Exit 1, on the westbound side of Interstate 10 in Louisiana, will be closed during this time.

Motorists are reminded to use caution while traveling through work zones and be watchful for work crews and equipment.
