Masked gunman robs convenience store

VIDOR — The Vidor Police Department is seeking help from the public in identifying a man involved in what police call an aggravated robbery late Thursday.

An unidentified person carrying a handgun robbed the Country Pantry convenience store in the 1000 block of Orange Street in Vidor shortly before 10:45 p.m., Thursday, according to police. The bandit reportedly made off with less than $300.

According to information provided by Detective Chris Pearson of the Vidor Police Department, the person of interest is described as a white man “with an athletic build.” The person is between 5’7 and 5’10 in height and weighs between 160 to 180 pounds.

The unidentified man was wearing a long sleeve button down shirt, blue jeans and grey tennis shoes. He also wore a red bandana, which was wrapped around his face and neck in an effort to conceal his identify from the clerk. He also wore a black cap, which was pulled down to his eyes, black gloves and sunglasses.

After obtaining the cash from the register, the gunman exited the building and was last seen running to a small red car which was being driven by another unidentified person. No injuries were reported.
