ORANGE — 4-Man Golf Scramble

The Orange Lions Club will hold its 20th Annual 4-Man Golf Scramble starting at 8 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at Sunset Grove Country Club in Orange. The event will benefit the Lions Eye Bank of Texas. Team and hole sponsor costs are $350, team sponsor is $300, hole sponsor is $100 and cart sponsor. Saturday Adventure Series

Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, 2111 W. Park Ave. in Orange, will hold its next Saturday Adventure Series: “Explore the Stars,” from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, for ages 10 and older, where guests will discover the beauty of the heavens and learn about the constellations in STARLAB. Garage sale/silent auction

Maplecrest Baptist Church, 1005 North St. in Vidor, will hold a garage sale and silent auction in the Family Life Center from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, May 3, and 7 a.m. - 2 p.m., May 7. All items are clean and in good working order. Call 409-769-3567 for info.

Mystery Dinner Theater

Girl Scout Troop 3151 will hold a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday, May 4 at the Raymond Gould Community Center, 385 Claiborne in Vidor. Tickets are $15 and meal includes spaghetti, salad and desert. Call 409-659-9223 for more information.

Vidor Historical Society

The Vidor Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, May 5 at in the Fellowship Hall of First Pentecostal Church at Camp and Wilson Streets.

Public Workshop

Orange County Commissioners Court will hold a public workshop at 1 p.m., Monday, May 5 at the Orange County Administration Building, 123 S. 6th St., Orange. TCDRS Ralph Wallace will give a presentation and discussion concerning TCDRS retirement for Orange County employees. The public is welcome to attend.
