Suspicious activity leads to two men arrested

VIDOR — Suspicious activity around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 1100 block of Central Street in Vidor led Orange County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.

After making contact with several subjects at the residence, Derek Ryan Gray, 30,  of Vidor, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and several illegally possessed prescription drugs.  Bobby Timothy Smith Jr., 29, of Vidor, was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, including a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Both Gray and Smith were arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail.

Once at the jail, it was discovered that Gray had more hidden prescription pills on his person.

Gray was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance, ranging from 3rd degree felony to class B misdemeanors.

Smith was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge David Peck arraigned Gray and Smith Thursday morning.
