Closures loom for Thanksgiving holiday

ORANGE — The Thanksgiving holiday is approaching, and that means multiple business and government office closures are ahead.

All non-essential offices in the cities of Orange, West Orange, Bridge City, Pinehurst, Vidor, Rose City and Pine Forest will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. Offices will re-open at normal business hours on Monday, Dec. 2.

All non-essential Orange County government offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday as well for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Garbage will run as normal in Vidor, but, in Orange and Bridge City, garbage which is regularly collected on Thursday will now be collected Friday, while garbage regularly scheduled for collection on Friday will now be picked up on Saturday instead.

The United States Postal Service will not deliver mail on Thursday, Nov. 28. It will resume normal operation hours on Friday for the official start of the holiday season.

Financial institutions such as Capital One, Community Bank, Bridge City Bank and First Financial will be closed on Thursday in observance of the holiday and reopen on Friday. However, credit unions such as Sabine Federal Credit Union, MCT Credit Union, Gulf Credit Union and others will be closed Thursday and Friday.
