A boil water notice has been issued Monday following a break in a water main.
The City of Pinehurst issued a boil water notice for its residents on Monday afternoon following a break in a water main at approximately 4 p.m., Monday.
According to Chief Fred Hanauer III of the Pinehurst Police Department, work crews on the city’s current sewer project ruptured a water main on West Martin, which caused the boil water notice to be issued.
Officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed. Officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests submitted to the TCEQ prove otherwise.
Hanauer said the notice will be in effect at least 24 hours until test results can be confirmed.
