ORANGE — Men’s Conference

Orange Boat Club Elections

The Orange Boat Club will hold elections for Board of Directors and Officers from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at the boat club, 2206 Dupont Drive in Orange. Links will be served during election time. For any member interested in running for a Board of Director or Officer position there is a notebook in the bar, you may register by writing your name under the position that you want to apply for. To have your name on the official ballot, you must register by Oct. 15. You may still register as a write-in candidate up until 6:59 AM on Oct. 20.

Safe Boating

Sabine Sail and Power Squadron will hold a Safe Boating Class from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Pleasure Island Commission Bldg, 500 Pleasure Island Blvd in Port Arthur. Minimum age is 13. Texas requires boater education for persons under 18 and born after Sept. 1, 1993 to operate boat over 15 HP, personal watercraft or wind driven craft over 14 ft. in length. Vendors needed

Vidor Rotary Club will hold a community wide garage sale from 8 a.m. - noon, Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Woods Center, 175 N. Main St. in Vidor. Spaces are $10 each and are 21’ x 10.5’. Spots must be reserved and paid for by noon, Nov. 1. E-mail sally8363@aol.com for info or a form.

Harold Leigh benefit

A benefit will be held starting at noon, Sunday, Oct. 21, at Cotton’s Cay in Orange to help the children of Harold Leigh, who died from severe brain injury following an automobile collision. Events include a fun run, auction with fabulous prizes, raffles, shirts, bracelets, food and more.
