Savanna Smith follows family inspiration as Valedictorian

LITTLE CYPRESS — Inspired at a young age by a cousin, Little Cypress - Mauriceville High School Valedictorian Savanna Smith strived to become Valedictorian.

“A person who inspired me to be Valedictorian was my cousin, Krista Smith, who was high ranked in her class when I was in the 4th grade,” Smith said. “I wanted to follow in her footsteps.”

Smith also said that the possibility for achieving the honor was always in the back of her mind after reaching the highest ranking student in 8th grade.

“I always did my best and hoped for the best,” Smith said. “It was always in the back of my mind but I did not make it the main priority.”

Running, swimming and just being outdoors are just some of the many activities Smith enjoys when she is not studying.
