Lamar components offer HUB Forum

BEAUMONT — Lamar University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange and Lamar State College-Port Arthur will sponsor a HUB Forum on Nov. 7.

The event will be at 880 Dewey Street in Beaumont, from 9 a.m. -1 p.m.

“HUB” refers to historically underutilized businesses, which include businesses owned by minorities, women or veterans. HB194 recently added service-disabled veterans to the HUB definition.

The Texas Procurement and Support Services division of the Comptroller's Office will provide more information and also give assistance with any questions on how to complete HUB certification paperwork.

The Texas Department of Information Resources will also provide a presentation on how to become a DIR vendor. The information will provide information technology service/supplier vendors with how to do business with stage agencies.

All current and potential HUB vendors are invited to come to the event. For more information, call (409) 882-3319.
