Wounded Warriors benefit offers music and family fun

VIDOR — A full day of music, food and fun activities will help provide assistance to a worthwhile organization Saturday.

The “Giving Back to Heroes Concert and Soldier Fun Run will be held from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at the VFW Hall, 2110 S. Main St. in Vidor, benefiting the local Wounded Warriors.

Activities include a motorcycle run, as well as a car and bike show. There will be a live and silent auction, a 50/50 split the pot drawing and raffles for various other prizes.

A cake walk is scheduled, plus a variety of kids of activities to make sure this is a great family event. Food and beverages will be available for purchase as well.

Live music is a big part of Saturday’s event. Headlining the list of performers of Wes Jeans, who will take the stage at 6 p.m.

Jeans is a native of Marshall, Texas and, according to his biography, “delivers a soul-drenched mix of high voltage, rockin’ Texas Blues.”

Other artists scheduled to perform include Silas Feemster, noon - 2 p.m.; Dickie and the Tornadoes, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.; and Three Legged Dawg, 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
