Aaron Neville to open upcoming Lutcher Theater season

ORANGE — A man with decades in the music business is set to perform in Orange this week.

Louisiana-native Aaron Neville will perform at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, as the debut act of the 2013-2014 season at the Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts in Orange. Tickets are $35-$65 online at or by calling the box office at 409-886-5535.

Neville is touring in support of his January 2013 release, “My True Story,” a collection of 12 doo-wop era classics with an added touch by Neville for good taste. The release peaked at number seven on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and is Neville’s first ever Top 10 album.

Thursday’s concert is one of only three Texas dates on the second leg of his U.S. tour which began in late August in Los Angeles and will see Neville travel across the United States until the tour ends in his hometown of New Orleans, La. on Dec. 15.

Neville, also a key member of the Neville Brothers, is best known for songs such as “Tell It Like It Is,” “Everybody Plays the Fool,” “Somebody Somewhere,” “Don’t Take Away My Heaven,” and many others.
