WEST ORANGE — The 2012 "Chevy Can Drive" was a huge success thanks to the outpouring of public support on Thursday.
The third annual "Chevy Can Drive," which is sponsored by Granger Chevrolet and KOGT radio, can be considered as arguably the most successful event yet in the series as approximately 4,800 pounds of food was donated by the public in just a span of two hours at the local chevy dealership on MacArthur Drive.
The food donations were split equally between the Salvation Army of Orange County and Orange Christian Services.
"It was just a great day," said Judy Jensen, director of Orange Christian Services. "So many people came out to support the Salvation Army and Orange Christian Services. This will make a big difference for people in our community."
