LITTLE CYPRESS —
A closure of a railroad crossing is forcing the LC-M Consolidated Independent School District to alter routes for the transportation of some of its students.
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated Independent School District has been informed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) that on Tuesday, Sept. 17, the closure of a railroad crossing will close down FM 1136 for railroad track maintenance at FM 1130 and FM 1442.
This may cause a delay in picking up students in the morning, and it will definitely cause children to be delivered home later in the afternoon, since buses will have to use the alternate Interstate 10 route.
The school district has notified parents already as the original closure date was scheduled for Sept. 11 but was rescheduled by TxDOT earlier this week for this coming Tuesday.
