6 arrested in Labor Day meth bust

BRIDGE CITY — Six people were arrested methamphetamine bust during the Labor Day weekend.

Detectives with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested six people late Saturday, Aug. 30, during the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Spooner Street in Bridge City.

Authorities discovered approximately four-ounces of methamphetamine once inside the premises. Also located was 10 dose units of Lysergic acid diethylamide, methamphetamine paraphernalia, a semi-automatic pistol, a Derringer-type pistol and one semi-automatic rifle. Several “combat-style” knives were discovered at the location.

Four of the six people arrested were from Orange County, including Bridge City residents Stephen Shane Hall, Misty Renee Hall and Scott Casey Robicheaux. Also arrested were Brannon Lee Wooden of Vidor, Heather Mechelle Singleton of Lake Charles, La., and Kevin Trent Portie of Sulphur, La.

All six were charged with possession of a controlled substance, a second degree felony, and transported to the Orange County Correctional Facility. Stephen Shane Hall was also charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1(a) for being in possession of LSD, plus three charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Each of these charges is a third degree felony.

These arrests are a result of year-long joint investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office into the distribution of methamphetamine into Orange and Jefferson Counties.
