ORANGE — Income Tax Assistance

AARP Tax Filing Assistance Program will be offered from 12:15 p.m. - 4 p.m., every Wedneaday and Friday at the Orange Public Library. Bring the following, all W-2 and 1099 forms, records of capital gains and losses, copy of 2011 tax return, receipts of medical expenses, major purchases and social security cards for dependents.

Pool tournament

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will host a pool tournament beginning at 8 p.m., every Friday. Prize money will given to first and second place winners. Food will be available. Call Sharon Bodin at 409-735-8662 or 409-719-7793 for info.

VFW Post 8246, 2110 S. Main in Vidor, invites the public to its weekly pool tournament every Friday night. Ages 21 and older only. Call 409-768-1482 for info.

Saturday Adventure Series

Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, 2111 W. Park in Orange, will hold its Saturday Adventure Series from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 30 for a “Morning Bird Stroll.” For first time bird spotters, this program will focus on using binoculars and field guides, while avid birders share their knowledge and expertise. Adult participants and children 10 years of age and older are welcome to attend. Space is limited. RSVP by calling 409-670-9799.

Easter Egg Hunt

West Orange Christian Church, 900 Lansing St., will have an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 30. There will also be singing, food and fun. The public is invited. Call 409-779-3440 or visit www.westorangechurch.org for info.

McDonald Memorial Baptist Church would like to invite the community to an Easter Egg Hunt/Community Picnic at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 30, at Alford-Seale Park on Western Avenue in West Orange.
