The Orange Leader
Kesha Rogers, LaRouche Democrat running for U.S Senate was in Orange County on Tuesday.
Rogers is a two time nominee for U.S. Congress for the 22nd district and a 2001 Texas State University graduate with a degree in Political Science and Speech Communications as well as an active supporter of the LaRouche Youth Movement.
Rogers was in the area for an interview with 1300 Freedom Radio and a meet and greet at Danny’s Super Foods, 2003 Western Ave., West Orange.
“We have had such a good response at the Administration Building, we thought we would have a one on one with the citizens,” Rogers said in an interview.
Members of the LaRouche Political Action Committee demonstrated outside the Orange County Administration Building, 123 South 6th Street, Orange, on Monday and Tuesday.
“Obama must be impeached and otherwise removed immediately,” Rogers said. “We need to replace this current paradine with a new plan.”
Rogers wants to reinstate Glass-Steagall banking.
“We need to cut the bail outs/bail ins of Wall Street,” Rogers said. “We need to fully fund NASA.”
The Glass-Steagall Act, also known as the Banking Act of 1933, was passed by Congress in 1933 and prohibits commercial banks from engaging in the investment business. The Act was repealed in 1999.
Rogers also wants to work on the infrastructure of industries as endorsed by John F. Kennedy.
“We need to replenish our water supply to control drought and protect our farmers,” Rogers said. “Texas should break with Wall Street, revive NASA and be more like Roosevelt and JFK intended. Look at the Ukraine, Russia and China. They are going in a scientific direction. They are looking to mining the moon. We need to move in that direction, not defunding NASA.”
Rogers is planning a memorial concert for Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy on January 25, with the time and location to be announced, most likely in Houston.
Rogers resides in Houston with her husband, Ian Overton.
