Vidor Homecoming Parade set for Friday

VIDOR — The annual Vidor High School Homecoming Parade takes place this Friday.

The annual parade will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, on North Main Street in Vidor. Parade entrants will begin lining up at 1 p.m., Friday, in numerical order according to registration, at Filmore and North Main on the west side of Main Street. Participants will travel south on Main Street to the railroad tracks at Old Highway 90.

No candy or treats are to be thrown from floats or vehicles, but those walking along the roadside in the parade may pass out such items.

The parade is subject to weather conditions and may be delayed, postponed or canceled if necessary.

Trophies will be presented to winning entries at approximately 7 p.m., Friday, during pre-game activities. Winners should have a representative available to receive trophies in the press box at that time.

Tickets are still available for Friday’s Homecoming game as the Vidor Pirates host Orange County rivals, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Battlin’ Bears. Tickets are $6 for reserved seating for everyone, and general admission seats $6 for adults and $3 for students and children. Tickets may be purchased in the Athletic Director’s Office in the new gymnasium at Vidor High School.
