Orange man indicted on manslaughter charges

An Orange man was indicted this week by the grand jury on charges of intoxication manslaughter.
Brandon Ernest Broadus, 28, allegedly was an intoxicated driver when he reportedly struck a woman’s vehicle and caused her death.
According to reports from the Vidor Police Department, about 5:50 p.m. on April 20, 2008, Broadus was traveling west on Highway 12 near Marshall Lane in a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck.
Shelly Cundiss, 40, was traveling east on Highway 12 in a 1989 Lincoln when Broadus reportedly crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. His pickup truck struck Cundiss’ vehicle. As a result, Broadus’ vehicle slid out of control and rolled off the roadway. Cundiss’ vehicle slid out of control as well, but came to rest off the roadway, according to reports.
Broadus allegedly told emergency personnel he had taken prescription medication prior to the wreck.
Other indictments returned include;
Patrick Wall, 38, Vidor, felony driving while intoxicated- Wall is accused of having prior convictions for intoxication manslaughter and being caught driving a vehicle while intoxicated;
Mark Randall Brister, 45, Vidor, felony driving while intoxicated- Brister is accused of having prior convictions for driving while intoxicated and being arrested for the same offense;
Patsy Ruth Joseph, 52, Orange, driving while intoxicated with a child passenger- Joseph is accused of being intoxicated while she had a child passenger in her vehicle;
Larry Michael Newland, 31, Port Neches, sexual assault- Newland is accused of sexually assaulting a child on several occasions at a residence;
Juan Aaron Reynolds, 28, Vidor, sexual assault- Reynolds is accused of sexually assaulting a child at a residence;
Carl William Hartney, 41, Vidor, sexual assault (4 cases)- Hartney is accused of sexually assaulting two different children on several occasions at a residence;
Elgia Jerode Griffin, 35, Orange, sexual assault/indecency with a child- Griffin is accused of having sexually assaulting a child at a residence;
Vernon Ray Strong, 56, Orange, failure to register as a sex offender- Strong is accused of being a convicted sex offender and failing to register as required by law;
Seigle Allen Cunningham Jr., 26, Nacogdoches, kidnapping- Cunningham is accused of kidnapping a man;
Joseph Paul Perry, 25, Vidor, kidnapping- Perry is accused of kidnapping a man;
Patrick Neal Lege, 35, Orange, fail to stop and render aid- Lege is accused of colliding with a mail truck and then fleeing the scene without assisting the driver as required by law;
Floyd Ray Guillory Jr., 24, Beaumont, criminal mischief- Guillory is accused of taking a pole to a pickup truck and doing extensive property damage;
Christopher James Cathey, 28, Vidor, felony theft- Cathey is accused of having a record as a habitual thief and stealing money from a discount store;
Robert Carl Roehr, 36, Vidor, felony theft- Roehr is accused of having a record as a habitual thief and stealing from a discount store;
Steve West, 38, Houston, felony theft (2 cases) - West is accused of scamming a woman out of money and stealing a motor home;
Fred Dexter Lee, 51, Willis, felony theft- Lee is accused of working for a contractor and stealing jewelry from a residence he was working at;
Stephen Todd Sturrock, 47, Vidor, felony theft- Sturrock is accused of stealing appliances and selling them to unsuspecting customers;
Damion Wade Morris, 23, Vidor, burglary of a habitation/burglary of a building- Morris is accused of breaking into a building and stealing property and he also broke into a habitation and stole property;
John Auston Hebert, 19, Bridge City, burglary of a habitation/felony theft- Hebert is accused of stealing furniture from a business that was having a tent sale;
Adam Christopher LeJeune, 19, Vidor, burglary of a habitation- LeJeune is accused of breaking into a residence and stealing property;
Candice Danielle Stanley, 20, Vidor, burglary of a habitation- Stanley is accused of breaking into a residence and stealing property;
Kenneth Dale Morris, 41, Orange, burglary of a habitation- Morris is accused of breaking into two residences;
Keith Alan Reynolds, 22, burglary of a habitation- Reynolds is accused of breaking into a building and stealing property;
Michael Glen Kendrick, 18, Orange, debit card abuse- Kendrick is accused of stealing a debit card and using it several times without the cardholders consent;
Lawrence Guillory, 20, Orange, felony forgery- Guillory is accused of passing stolen and forged checks;
David Silvas, 40, Orange, felony forgery- Silvas is accused of passing stolen and forged checks;
Vickie Chesson Lacomb, 44, Orange, acquiring a controlled substance by fraud- Lacomb is accused of passing a forged prescription form at a pharmacy in Orange;
Colven Collins Simmons, 25, Vidor, felony possession of a controlled substance/felony assault- Simmons is accused of being in possession of marijuana and assaulting the police officer who arrested him;
Dominique Jerrode Chargois, 17, Orange, felony possession of a controlled substance- Chargois is accused of being in possession of cocaine;
Amanda Nacoal Dorn, 27, Vidor, felony possession of a controlled substance- Dorn is accused of being in possession of illegal drugs.
